Welcome

The Agri Laboratory Association of Southern Africa (AgriLASA) is proud to host the 19th International Symposium on Soil and Plant Analysis in Cape Town, South Africa, from 27 to 30 October 2027. Returning to South Africa after 23 years, ISSPA 2027 will bring together international leaders in soil, plant, water and agricultural analysis to share research, explore emerging technologies and strengthen global collaboration.

ISSPA is a biennial global symposium arranged under the auspices of an International Governance Committee, with representation from the North American Soil and Plant Analysis Council (SPAC), the Australasian Soil and Plant Analysis Council (ASPAC), AgriLASA and other similar international organisations from Europe, South America and other regions.

Leading experts in soil, plant, water and related sciences are invited to use this global platform to present the latest research, demonstrate new technologies and connect with international colleagues across academia, laboratories, research institutions and agribusiness.

The 2027 symposium theme, Soil to Sky: Scientific Agricultural Pathways to Support a Living Planet, will offer sessions on soil and plant health, crop monitoring and sustainable fertilisation recommendations, water quality, proximal and laboratory analysis techniques, artificial intelligence and data management.

Alongside plenary, oral and poster sessions, delegates will enjoy a welcome networking breakfast, an optional symposium dinner featuring local cuisine, and a post-symposium field tour showcasing agricultural practice in the Cape Peninsula region.

The venue is ideally located near the Cape Town Waterfront, offering convenient access to a variety of accommodation, restaurants and well-known visitor attractions for delegates who wish to extend their stay.
